Doris is the CEO/ Lead Consultant at Imperium Consulting Ltd , a leading Training and Performance Consulting firm focused on providing business transformation consulting and best-in-class learning solutions /bespoke interventions within and outside Nigeria.
She started her banking career in November, 1990 with Comet Merchant Bank Limited (later known as First Atlantic Bank Plc) and subsequently worked with Regent Bank Plc and Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc Post merger. she has held strategic positions traversing Head, Human Resources and Administration , Head Treasury Operations, Head, Branch Operations , Head, Consumer Banking and Head, Learning and Strategy.
She is a thoroughbred professional banker and a seasoned Work place Learning Practitioner with over two decades of banking experience in diverse functional areas.
By virtue of her work experience, she has the requisite competence for strategic Human Resources Management, Strategic Management of the learning function, Change Management, Design and delivery of learning, Performance Management, Business Partnering, Talent Development and Strategic Branch Banking Operations management.
She has contributed significantly to organizational growth through operational excellence and efficiency, business development initiatives, strategic HR policies and practices and consistent alignment of learning to business strategy /and global best practices .
As an internationally certified facilitator, she has facilitated several work place learning programs ( formal and informal) to develop required competences for improved business performance.
She supported the successful implementation of high impact organizational projects - was the training lead for the finacle upgrade project at Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc in 2016 and over 4000 employees were trained in various capability areas. She was also highy instrumental to the deployment of SABA learning management system that enabled scalability of learning and cost efficiency in the organization.
She attended several value adding training programs / conferences both locally and internationally including certification to facilitate top ranking programs from highly reputable learning Solutions providers, Achieve Global Inc , (Now part of Miller Heiman group , USA) and Trideco PTY, South Africa
She is a professional member of Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM ) USA. An Associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a member of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) USA.
She resigned her appointment with Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc in May , 2016 to pursue other endeavours of interest.
And her core mandate is to enable superior business performance consistently by collaborating with clients to understand their long and short term business goals and ensure they are translated into actionable learning priorities
Doris holds a B.A degree in English from Edo State University ,Ekpoma ( now Ambrose Alli University) and an M.A degree in English literature from the university of Ibadan
Afolake is an experienced human resource (HR) professional with a rich blend of HR consulting and practice experience spanning over twenty years. She holds a BSc (Hons) degree from University of Lagos and an MBA from University of Benin. She is member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Nigeria and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) USA. In 2015, she obtained the SHRM’s Senior Certified Professional Certificate (SHRM-SCP).
Afolake started her HR career with SCG Consulting Limited (a management consulting firm) in 1995 where she gained a sound knowledge of Human Resource Management (HRM) sub-systems, their integration and overall relationships with corporate strategy and performance. She also participated in consulting assignments for various organizations across different industries. She left SCG Consulting in 1998 to pursue her MBA program and joined Gulf Bank of Nigeria Plc (later acquired by UBA) in 1999.
During her over six years HR practice experience in Gulf Bank, she handled different responsibilities which included manpower planning, resourcing, personnel services and training while reporting to the Head, Human Resources & Training. In November 2006, after over a year voluntary break from work, Afolake joined Stanbic Bank of Nigeria Plc as Learning & Development (L&D) Consultant reporting to Head, Human Resources and was responsible for managing the learning & development function for the bank. In 2008, the L&D function was re-organized after the Stanbic-IBTC merger. Reporting to Head, Learning & Development and Strategy, she was assigned as L&D Consultant to different areas of the business until May 2016 when she left the services of the bank to pursue other endeavors of interest.
As an experienced workplace learning professional, Afolake is driven by the strategic value of the learning function. Acting as the sole interface between her assigned business areas and L&D, she passionately supported the business to build people capability for business performance. Between July 2014 and April 2015 she had a relief assignment as Head, HR Business Partner for the bank’s retail business - Personal & Business Banking (PBB). This afforded her the opportunity to work with the Human Capital centres of expertise to develop and implement PBB HR plan to support its business agenda.
In the course of her career with Stanbic IBTC, Afolake received several commendations from the businesses she supported and also got the Eagle Customer Service award in recognition of her outstanding support. Furthermore, she supported the change management stream of the merger process with IBTC in 2007/2008 and was recognized and awarded for her contribution to achievement of key milestones during the integration process.
As a senior member of the L&D team, she played a significant role in the successful implementation of Finacle core banking project (version 1) in 2012 and version 3 upgrade project in 2016 where over 4,000 employees were optimally trained in the relevant capability areas. She also played critical roles in the deployment and implementation of various L&D initiatives such as the e-learning project implementation and 70-20-10 learning model optimization. As a member of HR Exco, Afolake was involved in the deployment of various HR programs/initiatives across the organization.
As an accredited facilitator, she passionately facilitated various learning interventions for the bank which included targeted programs by Achieve Global (SA) and Deloitte Consulting. Some of the programs facilitated by her are: Customer Service/Experience, Facilitation Skills, Presentation Skills, Business Writing, Change Management, Targeted Selection for Recruiting Managers, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Personal Effectiveness and Acculturation programs for new hires.
Afolake has attended several programs and conferences locally and internationally.
Bode has several years of Banking experience in diverse functional areas. He holds a B.Sc & M.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), Associate Member of Computer Association of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association of Chicago, USA. He is a Certified Trainer of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a Member of the Consultancy Sub Committee of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Lagos Branch)
He has attended several Courses and Seminars at various Institution including Lagos Business School, Imperial Associates and Service Quality Institute of America and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria to mention a few.
He has experience spanning Banking, Consulting, Oil & Gas and General Administration. He has facilitated in several training and Consulting jobs locally and Internationally. He Consults in various aspects of Banking and Finance for Small, Medium and Corporate Organizations including Multinationals. He also has a bias for Service Excellence.
He is presently the Managing Consultant of Spectrum Network Consulting.
